The Batchelor Party - Uncut
or as my British friends would know it, the stag party. It was a quiet elegant affair, filled with fine dining, trips to the art galleries and delicate port wine with Cuban cigars in the smoking room at the Bellagio, Yeah Right!!!
Of course what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, it's the law, and being a totally law abiding citizen, I would never break it! However, I do have some stuff I can share. We were only a small group, Marcus, a very old friend from the UK, Steve (Ive learned everything I know about about women from Steve) and Travis, a couple of great guys I met over the last 9 months that I have been here.
The trip started well with everyone getting in on time, although we were three weeks too early, with the Hooters casino and hotel opening scheduled for the 3rd February. Marcus set the bar pretty high by producing a drinks (optics) dispenser for the hard liquor that Steve brought. Steve had put quite a lot of effort into the weekend, including buying some great tshirts, a couple of badges for me to wear, etc.
The initial pace was fast, and with the night marching on, we headed out to our first bar, one that was high on everyone's list, Coyote Ugly, in the New York, New York. I have posted some pictures here. Warning, whilst they are safe for work, some may offend, and they are mostly women! Don't worry though, Lorraine saw them all, there was nothing to hide.
The high pace continued and soon Steve was proffering me a shot of 151 Bacardi. Of course, I knocked it back, but that sent my stomach over the edge, and I promptly retrieved it (we call this a tactical chunder at home) into a nearby glass, before continuing with the evening's festivities. I think the boys were impressed, with my stamina at least. The evening continued on until around 3am, whereupon everyone else went to bed, and I went to play some blackjack.
The next day, everyone felt a little delicate, but we soldiered on regardless, spending some time on the blackjack and craps tables, before heading out to a slightly more subdued night. We had Mexican for dinner, cruised some bars, etc..
Saturday, Travis returned home, but Marcus, Steve and myself decided to go out in style. We went out for a steak dinner, but it was booked up with at least an hour wait, so we ended up with fish and chips, before heading back to Coyote Ugly. The drinks were flowing, we bar hopped and ended up out till 6am, with an 11am hotel checkout. Steve felt very rough, I felt like a million bucks, honestly I did, and Marcus felt pretty good too.
Marcus flew out in the afternoon. Steve and I eventually got that steak dinner, and flew out later that night, with a slight weather delay, arriving home at around 3am. Whilst it is winter in Vegas, at a mere 50-60 degrees, it was quite a shock to the system, arriving home to about a foot of snow!
All in all, a fantastic weekend, and I am very pleased that the guys who made it all seemed to have a great time. You others..you missed a terrific weekend. I will of course have some beers with you all at the next opportunity, both in Illinois and the UK, but Vegas is Vegas.
Yeah Baby!
