20 Days Old

Almost a month old already, and thankfully we won't be much longer until we are through that first two months of yelling for no apparent reason, although some days she is great, eats, sleeps and sh**s on schedule. It has been a month of firsts..

Saw her Cubbies unceremoniously dumped out of the play offs by the Diamond Backs, who were treated with the same disdain by the Rockies..go Rockies! Hopefully she will see a few World Series with her dad over the next few years, especially with all the Cubs stuff she got, including an awesome hand made blanket by my friend Annie.

She had her first public engagement, out to a party at her US godparents house, check out the pictures; that's Jody feeding AJ. She was quite the picture in her little Osh Kosh hoodie. Daddy got very drunk (a whole bottle of Soco Charlie) and fortunately mummy was past the day for being able to drive again.

She had her first sponge bath and yelled throughout, I hope she comes to like the bath time stuff, else it is gonna be a long couple of years! Her cord fell off, and then she got her first full bath in the water, hated that too!

She is now being exclusively bottle fed, we tried all the tricks, including pumping with an industrial strength milking machine. She was able to get some breast milk, but only tiny amounts and barely enough for one feed over several sessions, so she is gonna be a formula gal.

The good thing about that, is that I can share in the feeding duties, and Lorraine can now drink alcohol again which she is quite pleased about. Right now Lorraine is doing the lot, with the support of her mother who is only here for another week or so..after that I will be needed to in relief I am sure.

Last one for this post. Her new stroller arrived, complete with raincover and off road tires. So she should have her first visit to the doggie park this weekend. Lots more assorted pictures here, some older, some newer.

Webcast Is Coming

I have been working with a guy in the office, to get this thing going (although really he is the technical whizz on this). The long and short of it, is that it looks fantastic. We tried it last night. The picture quality is a little jerky, but the sound is great, and it's not like we will be running around. We still need to go to the venue and test it there, then set up all the connections and stuff, but barring some major failure..it's on! It will be broadcast here .

News Update

Well it's been a while since I posted any news about what is going on here with us, so I thought I would kinda pull together thoughts from the last few months. The first and most exciting news is our forthcoming new addition. Our first child is due September 25 th , for those of you who haven't read in a little while or seen the posting, click here . All is well, and we are trying to plan our year, including any trips, especially where flying is involved, before it is too late for Lorraine to fly. According to the due date we are at 15 weeks right now, and there is not much else to tell. She is not really showing yet, no kicking, etc. She was as sick as a dog on dodgy dog food for the whole first tri mester , and whilst she is much better now, she still has some issues in the evening. I mention the dodgy dog food intentionally because of an issue which is only getting worse here in the US. For months a major rebranding manufacturer (name withheld to protect from law suits :-) ...
